The main raw materials for the PAPLUS® Plastic-Free Tumbler are PLA (polylactic acid), which is primarily composed of lactic acid obtained by fermenting corn starch, and paper.
By using earth-friendly materials, the tumblers have the unique texture of natural materials, similar to ceramics and wood products. We value the individuality of each tumbler, such as color and shade, so that you can use it with affection.
"I want to use my own cup, but I want to avoid plastic products!"
"I want to use something environmentally friendly, but design is also important..."
This product is recommended for such individuals.
■Careful Design
The Plastic-Free Tumbler features a simple design to bring out the unique texture of its material.
To achieve the straight silhouette of the tumbler's side, we focused on post-processing after molding, ultimately polishing it to a matte finish.
■Commitment to Packaging
The packaging uses "chipboard," which is 100% recycled paper made from old newspapers and magazines.
Furthermore, the letterpress printing creates a unique charm in the type, which perfectly matches the natural feel of the plastic-free tumbler.
■Also suitable for hot beverages
While many products with high purity plant-derived ingredients often lack heat resistance, the Plastic-Free Tumbler has a heat resistance of 120℃, so you can safely use it for hot beverages.
■Materials in harmony with the Earth
Approximately 86% of the Plastic-Free Tumbler is made from corn-derived resin and paper, which are plant-derived ingredients.
To ensure heat resistance, natural clay minerals (approx. 7%) and petroleum-derived additives (approx. 7%) are added to the main components. *1
In addition, most of the material is broken down into water and carbon dioxide by microorganisms. *2
*1 Please be assured that the minimum amount of additives used complies with the Food Sanitation Act set by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
Many so-called eco-friendly products do not mention additives.
Please be careful.
*2 The time and extent required for decomposition vary greatly depending on the environment, so 100% decomposition is not guaranteed.
■Recycling instead of discarding
If PAPLUS® products are discarded as trash, they will be incinerated. Although they are mostly made of plant-derived ingredients and are carbon neutral (meaning they do not substantially increase CO2), please cooperate in recovering them as resources and remanufacturing them, rather than incinerating them as trash. Shall we create a new cycle together?
Note: Recycling is only available for businesses within Japan.

■Disclosure of the process from production to collection and remanufacturing
The Plastic-Free Tumbler includes a "Traceability Card".
This card bears a lot number, and from that number, you can check the manufacturing period, type, and quantity collected and remanufactured for that product on the website.
